Reading & Saving
Your Eprom Image

What Do I Need?

Reading and saving an Eprom Image (.bin) can be accomplished with both the programmer and the unlooper. A subed image needs to be handled a bit differently. You will need BasicH32.zip and BasicU06.zip. If you don't have these files, download them from here and use WinZip to unzip them. To avoid confusion, I'll cover all Read/Write methods:

Reading & Saving a Subed Image:

These instructions assume that you have a card that is currently subscribed to Dave and has no script on it. Follow these five easy steps, carefully, and you'll have no problems...

1. Insert card into your programmer. Start BasicH 32 and insure that it is in Normal mode.

2. Click on the Camera icon.

3. Click the Magnifying Glass.

4. Now click the Save Eprom Image icon.

5. Give the file a name that is easy to remember, and save it to disk. It is wise to save it in several places, both on and off the computer.

That's it! You've just saved a subed bin. Protect this file, as it is the only thing that will allow you to continue playing the game. Most importantly, make sure to keep this card subscribed...

Reading & Saving a bin from a scripted card with a programmer:

In order to read and save a bin from a scripted card, using a programmer, the script must first be removed from the card. Use the uninstall script/option for the particular script to accomplish this...

1. Insert your card into the programmer, and start BasicH 32. Make sure you are in normal mode.

2. Click on the Camera icon.

3. Click the Magnifying Glass.

4. Now click the Save Eprom Image icon.

5. Give the file a name that is easy to remember, and save it to disk. It is wise to save it in several places, both on and off the computer.

That's it! You've just saved the bin...

Reading & Saving an Image with an unlooper:

Using the unlooper is by far the easiest way to read and save a bin file, as it doesn't matter if there is a script on the card or not.

1. Insert card to be read in your unlooper. Start BasicU06 and insure that it is in Normal mode.
